Sick already

Well. Life is slowly getting back to normal... or at least a new version of normal. Unfortunately, everyone is taking turns getting sick. Yesterday I had a lovely stomach bug. Both kids have a cold. Josh feels kinda blah, but at least he's not sick yet.
Caleb decided to decorate our bedroom door with blue crayon. All I can say is thank goodness for washable crayons. As soon as he saw me coming he asked for a towel. At least he cleaned it up.

A Long Awaited Update

We're finally home. Woo Hoo. Madeline was discharged from the hospital late Saturday evening. We've been home today sleeping and enjoying being a family together. At the moment Caleb and Maddie are both asleep, so I'm going to post some pictures! Yay!

These first two pictures are the ones that the hospital took. She's in the online nursery, but I'm not sure what the website is or anything. I'm sure if you google Sparks you can find it if you want to.

This is the first time Caleb met Madeline. Here she is dressed up to go home.
Ah. Snoozing safe and sound back home.

Caleb is adjusting. Slowly. Since we had to go back to the hospital he hasn't had much time around her. Initially he simply ignored her, so we took it as a good sign when he asked to hold her.

Of course, we've had moments like these... He was supposed to be taking a nap. When I heard him out of bed I told him to "stay in there." Technically, he followed my instructions.

New Baby News

Heya everyone. Here's the scoop. Tuesday morning I noticed decreased fetal movements, so I was sent to the hospital for a nonstress test. The baby was okay, but they decided to go ahead with our induction early. Madeline Renae was born that evening. 7 pounds 15 ounces, 20.5 inches. She's got an incredible amount of dark hair.
We came back to see her doctor for a normal weight check this morning, but it turns out she has jaundice. Soooo, I'm writing this from a hospital room. She's over in the nursery getting light therapy. Josh and I are hanging out here. I get to feed her every three hours. Hopefully we'll be out of here by late Saturday night, maybe Sunday.
Sorry there aren't any pictures up yet. I promise I'll post some as soon as we get home from the hospital. Until then, just trust me that she's beautiful. :-)

A New Look

So I've been trying to update my blog. What do you think so far?
I'm not going to go back and fix all of my old posts, so please ignore the way the pictures are all cut off.

Baby Update

Okay, so here's the update. Our induction is scheduled for October 12th. We go in at six in the morning, so hopefully we'll have a baby by late afternoon. We'll do pictures just like we did with Caleb. As soon as Josh can get home to upload photos they'll be on this site. Let the countdown begin!

Back to School Bash

Okay, so I haven't posted any new pictures in a while. Here are some shots from the church back to school bash. We rented the pool at Creekmore Park. Caleb had a blast playing in the water and eating pizza.

Kindermusik

Heya. So Caleb took his first big-boy class this summer. It was a great little music class for toddlers. He had a blast. Unfortunately, I never once remembered my camera. Fortunately, one of the other moms finally remembered hers on the day of our last class. Here are the pictures she very generously took for me and emailed.
This is one of those songs where whoever is holding the stuffed animal is the one they sing about. Luckily, after his turn, Caleb passed it to the next kid without crying or trying to run away with the dog.

This was definately his favorite part of every class: rhythm sticks. What can I say? He's going to be a drummer.

Here you can see that good 'ole classic Ring Around the Rosie.

I'm very glad we tried this out. He had a few breakdowns, but we'll be enrolling again next summer. This was just too much fun.
