Kindermusik

Heya. So Caleb took his first big-boy class this summer. It was a great little music class for toddlers. He had a blast. Unfortunately, I never once remembered my camera. Fortunately, one of the other moms finally remembered hers on the day of our last class. Here are the pictures she very generously took for me and emailed.

This is one of those songs where whoever is holding the stuffed animal is the one they sing about. Luckily, after his turn, Caleb passed it to the next kid without crying or trying to run away with the dog.

This was definately his favorite part of every class: rhythm sticks. What can I say? He's going to be a drummer.

I'm very glad we tried this out. He had a few breakdowns, but we'll be enrolling again next summer. This was just too much fun.

Guitar Hero

Caleb is obsessed with Guitar Hero. He watches his uncle Bobby play whenever he can. Here's what happened when someone handed him the guitar. (The game wasn't even on, and it took us about an hour to get the guitar back.)

Just Playing Around

Well, here's another first. Josh and Caleb did some fingerpainting! It went great until Caleb decided to try to eat it.... turns out that paint tastes gross. Afterwards, Caleb had a nice long bath!

Caleb and I were bored today, so we used his alphabet tiles to make a playhouse. He's been playing in it all day. :-)

Good news: he is now taking his daytime nap in his big boy bed! Soon we'll be working on nighttime.

For some reason he likes to play in my laundry basket. Yes, he put the pillow and everything in there himself. If you look in the background you can see the laundry that he dumped out... all by himself. Sigh. It's hard to get annoyed when he looks this cute.

His latest accomplishment was figuring out how to get up on our dining room chairs by himself. Now he sits up at the table and tries to use the computer.

And here are some cute pictures of him playing at the park. I haven't been to Creekmore (well, the playground part of it) in years. The most horrible thing has happened. They've taken out the merry-go-round thingy. You remember, the huge yellow metal spinning-wheel-of-death? They've even taken away the mini version that was over by the kiddie toys. Sigh.. Caleb will never know the joy of someone pushing it so fast that the centrifugal force threatened to swing you off head-first. Just think of all the childhood injuries they are depriving people of. It makes me sad.

Name That Blog

Okay, so it's become obvious that we need a new name for the blog. It's not all about Caleb anymore. Poor thing, he's going to miss getting all of the attention. Please submit all of your ideas here, in the comments section. Get creative, people!

Happy Easter!

This was Caleb's first Easter egg hunt. He did very well. He enjoyed putting the eggs in his basket so much that he played with them all evening at home.

After the egg hunt, all of the kids were entered in a drawing for prizes. Everyone won something. Caleb got a chocolate bunny and a ball.

He loved his ball so much that he didn't even let it go when he fell asleep on the way home...

And when we got home he took it to bed with him!
