Thanksgiving

Somehow I didn't manage to get any pictures... but Josh's Grandpa got this one.
She's actually awake!

A Story of Puppy

Well, as you may or may not know... Caleb has a puppy. The Puppy. It is the key to naptime and the end all and be all of bedtime. He talks; he sings songs; he is always happy. Lately, Caleb is using Puppy as a stand-in for a baby. All of the things he sees me do with Madeline, he does with Puppy. Yes, we've even put diapers on Puppy. In honor of all the things Puppy does, I thought we'd have a little photo essay of Puppy and Caleb. Enjoy.
Here we see the Dynamic Duo playing in the cubbies that are supposed to be for Caleb's toys. It is pretty much a constant battle to keep him out of them. This time was photo-worthy because he got stuck. Not only was he stuck, but he was stuck because he was trying to sit in it just like Puppy. I'm sure if he could articulate such things he would have said that Puppy made him do it.
Caleb is starting to see the booster seat as a baby seat. Naturally, that means Puppy should sit there and not him.

You can't see it in this picture, but Caleb can actually buckle the top part of the carseat. Sometimes we have to unbuckle Puppy so we can put Maddie in there.
The same goes for the swing. Caleb can put Puppy in, turn it on, and turn it off again.

And because I can't devote an entire blog to Puppy without a picture of Madeline... here ya go!

And I have to throw this one in there for Melissa... yes, her Daddy Rocks!

Clothes

Doesn't she look cute in purple? Most of her clothes are pink, so it's rare to see her in something else. Can you believe Maddie is already six weeks old? She has her six week check-up this week. We'll find out how much she weighs. I'm guessing it's a lot, because her clothes have been getting tight. I've already packed away the newborn size clothes and diapers. Sadly, many of her 0-3 month clothes are too small. She's just too long to snap them comfortably. This outfit is a 3-6 month size. Crazy, I know.
Speaking of clothing issues... I had this pair of feetsie pajamas put back from last winter. They finally fit, (and the nights have finally been cold enough) so we put them on him a couple of nights ago. Apparently they're the greatest things on earth, because it is a huge battle to get them off of him. Caleb loves the feetsie jammies. Sigh. We'll have to get him some more.

Peace and Quiet

It is such a sweet thing when their naps coincide.

A Little Late...

...but here are the guys making a jack-o-lantern. It was apparently lots of fun. Maddie watched, but she wasn't too impressed. She was asleep by the end of it. Oh well, it turned out cute.

Happy Halloween

Caleb and Maddie were jack-o-laterns for Halloween this year. We didn't really do anything, but we thought it would be fun for them to trick-or-treat at Grammie and Popup's house. I wish you could hear how Caleb says "trick-or-treat." It's so very cute. After he got his treats he kept asking for more. He eventually got the candy bowl and sat on the floor to empty it into his bucket. He spent the rest of the evening playing with the candy, counting it, and trying to eat it through the wrappers.

Dedication

This Sunday we dedicated the kids at church. Sorry the pictures aren't great. There were a lot of photos, but it was so dark that my camera did a lousy job.

Ah, how they grow...

We had our two year and two week well child check-ups this week. Caleb now weighs 30 lbs. 12 oz. Maddie is up to a whopping 9 lbs. Already. I know... she's only two weeks old. She's an eater.

Here's a picture of her first real bath.

Here's Caleb being himself. :-)

Sick already

Well. Life is slowly getting back to normal... or at least a new version of normal. Unfortunately, everyone is taking turns getting sick. Yesterday I had a lovely stomach bug. Both kids have a cold. Josh feels kinda blah, but at least he's not sick yet.
Caleb decided to decorate our bedroom door with blue crayon. All I can say is thank goodness for washable crayons. As soon as he saw me coming he asked for a towel. At least he cleaned it up.
