Cruisin' in the Walker

If you've had a baby in recent years you know that they don't make walkers like they used to. They're such a safety risk (if you don't watch your child) that they're all stationary now (because apparently people are incapable of watching their children). Maddie has a stationary play thing... the exersaucer. It was great until she had a taste of freedom... ah... sweet freedom... the walker. Grammie found one somewhere. We used to plop Madeline in it whenever we were trying to get food ready, but one day she discovered that it moved. She hasn't looked back. The day after she figured out how to make it move, I plopped her in the exersaucer. She pitched a fit. No matter how much she marched her feet and threw her weight forward it just wasn't moving. The poor exersaucer. It's been packed away, and we stole the walker from Grammie's house. Sorry Grammie! Now she's free... and she's dangerous. Let me tell you; it really hurts when she's going full tilt and that plastic bumper hits that spot on the back of your ankle. You learn quickly to take evasive action. But look how happy she looks. :-)
On a completely different note, Caleb is getting so very big. He's been sleeping in his toddler bed since he was around 20 months old. Lately he's been asking for a big boy bed. Sniff. Tear. Okay... I'm better now. Josh always does the evening bedtime routine. It culminates with cuddling in bed and reading. Caleb has decided that they don't both fit in his bed, (which is true) and he wants a big bed so Daddy can fit. I think it's incredibly sweet. We'll be shopping for a bed just as soon as Josh has a day off. I think Josh is looking forward to it as much as Caleb is.

Have a walker-tastic, getting-too-big-too-fast day!
